Working with Waverley to keep the Park a beautiful place for all to enjoy
The Friends of Farnham Park are a group of like-minded people who appreciate the simple pleasures of Farnham Park
and who want everybody to be able to continue to enjoy them into the future.
We liaise closely with, and support, the Waverley Countryside Management team
in preserving the character of this wonderful local amenity.
Many of our activities are open to everybody and most are free. They include:
Keeping our members informed
Interpretive walks
Conservation activities
Working Parties
Liaison with Waverley Borough Council on long term management strategies
Social events
Grade II Listed Historic Deer Park - one of the few still in the context of its original castle and associated buildings, which comprise a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
Evidence of occupation from the Middle Stone Age and the Roman occupation.
Important site for medieval 'ridge and furrow' field systems.
Civil War battle site - skirmishing associated with the siege of Basing House.
A site of Nature Conservation Importance and a Local Nature Reserve - it has many 'veteran trees' and the only 'chalk grassland' in Waverley Borough.
A centre for sport and recreation - Cricket, Football, Golf, Dog Walking or just enjoying the open air, and all just a a few minutes from the Town Centre.
